Ethos, Aims & Values

Howe Green House School is a unique environment where children are encouraged, supported and challenged to find their love of learning and stimulate their curiosity of the world.  We aim to create a nurturing and stimulating school where pupils can thrive academically, personally and through the co-curricular programme, laying the foundation for future success in secondary education and beyond.

In order to achieve the above, the following aims are of paramount importance:

People

The school fosters a strong sense of community akin to a family, where pupils, teachers and parents collaborate with and support each other. This environment promotes a feeling of belonging and emotional wellbeing amongst all members. We recognise that each child has unique strengths, areas for development and learning styles. The school provides personalised attention and promotes bravery where pupils are encouraged to take risks with their learning.

Progress

The school is committed to providing a high-quality education that challenges pupils to achieve their full academic potential. Emphasis is placed on cultivating critical thinking, problem-solving skills and a love of learning across the curriculum. A huge array of opportunities are given to the pupils for growth personally and in the performing arts and sport. We encourage self-discovery where children are able to learn about themselves and develop their interests and passions.

Preparation

The school prepares pupils for the transition to secondary education by equipping them with the academic skills, study habits and confidence needed to succeed on the next step of their educational journey. Furthermore, we aim to foster independence and resilience in our children to navigate new challenges in school and beyond in their future lives.
