Safeguarding

Howe Green House and Little Oaks Nursery are committed to safeguarding and we prioritise the wellbeing and security of every child within our nurturing environment. Our commitment to excellent safeguarding is evident in the comprehensive measures we have in place to create a safe and secure school for our pupils to learn, grow and thrive.

Our dedicated staff undergo regular training to stay up to date with the latest safeguarding practices and ensure a vigilant and proactive approach. We maintain an open and communicative atmosphere where children feel comfortable expressing themselves, fostering trust and enabling early intervention when necessary.

The school’s robust policies and procedures are designed to safeguard against various threats, encompassing not only physical safety but also emotional and psychological wellbeing. Regular risk assessments and safety audits are conducted to continuously enhance our protective measures.

Pupils are taught about safety and welfare across the curriculum but with a greater focus in their PSHE lessons. This includes navigating the digital world; being mindful of the dangers and making the most of the positive aspects. At Howe Green House the children’s online safety is protected through robust filtering and monitoring systems.

Collaboration with parents and the wider community is fundamental to our safeguarding ethos. We prioritise transparent communication, offering workshops and resources to educate parents on safeguarding principles, encouraging a united front in creating a secure environment for our pupils.

At Howe Green House and Little Oaks Nursery, excellent safeguarding is not just a duty; it’s a shared commitment that permeates every aspect of our community, ensuring that each child can flourish in an atmosphere of safety, support, and encouragement.

Further details about the school’s approach to safeguarding and child protection can be found in the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy below.
